Protected Species & Protected Resource Permitting

Preliminary Site Inspections (PSIs) provide clients with a comprehensive overview of the environmental risks and liabilities associated with a given property. Our PSIs include a review of public records, regulatory databases, historical documents, and in situ evidence to identify the potential need for future environmental constraint associated with development. By providing this information, we help our clients make informed decisions prior to purchasing, selling, developing, or redeveloping a property. These reports may combine both wetland & wildlife regulations depending on the subject property location and size.

At our environmental consulting company, we offer experience in many inexpensive surveys to prospective buyers and sellers, providing them with timely information regarding the presence or absence of protected resources onsite. Our surveys provide insight into the potential need for related environmental permits prior to construction as well as consultation to avoid permitting altogether. This allows buyers and sellers to make informed decisions and stay up to date with the latest environmental regulations. Some specific surveys are also required by local governments in order to obtain building or land clearing permits.

Following identification of jurisdiction by the pertinent regulatory agencies, and if development impacts are unavoidable by each respective protection buffer, a variety of different permits may be required. The majority of Single-Family Residential permitting is done in coordination with FDEP or FWC. Larger projects may also include the relevant Water Management District. Based on certain circumstances these permits may or may not require additional assessment and mitigation in various forms. All projected potential design methods or costs are made available to the applicant during the process.
